Low Calorie Sauce 350ml
Low Calorie Sauces to Make Your Stuff Taste Good!NZProtein’s Low-Cal Sauce is fibre syrup that’s naturally sweet and a good source of prebiotics and dietary fibre.
Sauces and dressings can add excessive calories, fats and sugars to your meals.
Our Low-Cal Sauce is just like the regular sauces you’d find in the supermarket but without all the unnecessary ingredients and calories!
Ingredients
NZProtein sauces have very minimal ingredients (fibre syrup, glycerol & flavouring). We don’t add any dodgy sugars or superfluous ingredients.
Our trusty formula mostly contains fibre syrup which is naturally sweet and a good source of prebiotics.
This natural syrup is a great source of fibre which is important because consuming high dietary fibre can lower blood pressure and improve insulin sensitivity.
Flavours
NZProtein sauce comes in several different flavour options so whether you’re a sweet tooth or a savoury fan, we have got you covered.
Sweet chilli is our savoury option. It goes great on roast veggies salads, meat, stir fries and in wraps or sandwiches!
For the sweet tooths out there we have got maple, caramel and berry. They are so versatile and will take any dessert to the next level.
You can squeeze them on top of foods or even use in baking. See below for some exciting, nutritious recipes.
Why Ours is Better
Sugar is often referred to as “empty calories'' because it confers no nutritional benefit.
National surveys show the average New Zealander consumes around 48 grams of sugar per day. Dietary guidelines recommend no more than 30 grams daily.
Considering New Zealand is the third fattest nation in the world, something needs to be done to address our problematic nutrition habits.
Regular maple syrup contains around 260 calories and 60 grams of sugar per 100g whereas NZProtein low calorie maple syrup is only 125 calories and 5.6 grams of sugar per 100g.
Making this small saucy swap could be hugely beneficial to your health. If we want Kiwis to be healthier, we need to have more lower calorie options available.
Our goal at NZProtein is to provide New Zealanders with better options that will enable them to achieve their health goals. Our low calorie sauce is a refreshing alternative to the plethora of high fat/sugar dressings currently on the market.
How to Use
We dare you to find a food that NZProtein sauce doesn’t go well with! Of course we recommend using the sauce on our range of ready made and mix products such as:
- Protein Pancakes
- Protein Ice Cream
- Protein Mousse
- Protein Marshmallows
- Protein Mug Cake
- Protein Oats
- Protein Jelly (it’s weirdly great!)
You can also use the sauces in recipes. A few of our favourites include apple pie slice, protein waffles, jam cookies, and raw cheesecake bites. Whatever you decide to squeeze it on, NZProtein sauce will greatly enhance the flavour experience without turning the meal into a calorific, sugar bomb.
Eating better doesn’t have to be bland. You can enjoy your syrups and sauces without all the calories and sugar.
Save your body the unnecessary extras and stick to products that are made with your health and enjoyment in mind.

I have thrown both of them out.
I'm interested to see if the other flavours will be nice, however don't want to risk spending more on something that may turn out unpalatable for me
- Great to mix with other sauces for a bit of sweetness or substitute for traditional sweet chili sauce in recipes
- Doesn't have too great digestive impact from artificial sweeteners
Cons:
- More like sweet sauce (with some savoury chili hit somewhere)
- Syrup-like can be hard to even spread across meal

Test Reports
Here at NZProtein we always strive to be the best at what we do. We invest heavily in research and development to have innovative products and the best flavours.
We stand firmly behind our products so we have commenced periodic batch testing of products by independent third party laboratories. These test reports will provide further evidence of the standards we adhere to.
Please note that we will not be able to test every flavour due to the costs - there are simply too many flavours and various batches manufactured. For example, in the NZ Whey alone we have over 20 flavours, so it is not practicable to test every flavour in every batch but we will periodically submit samples in various flavours for analysis.
