Plant Based Ice Cream Mix
Yep, We Have Developed High Protein Plant Based Ice Cream.Well, we’ve done it again. You all loved our protein ice cream and now we have a plant based version! This product has been in the works for a long time and now it’s finally here.
If you are vegan or dairy free, this is the product for you. Ice cream is one of life’s luxuries but most products on the market are full of sugar, calories and may not be ideal for those who struggle to digest lactose. Now that we have created a high protein and vegan ice cream, you no longer have to avoid this sweet treat.
NZProtein plant based ice cream is 100% vegan and hypoallergenic.
Great tasting, dairy free ice creams are not easy to come by. We have worked hard to bring you a product that provides nutritional benefits but doesn’t compromise on taste.
Try a sachet for yourself and let us know if you think we’ve nailed the brief.
Is Plant Based Ice Cream Healthy?
One sachet of NZProtein plant based ice cream contains 216 calories which is fairly low when compared to other ice cream options.
On top of this, it is a very macro friendly product. At 14.2 grams per serve, this ice cream has more protein than two eggs.
Specifically we use faba bean protein because it is nutrient dense and has a creamy consistency.
Following a vegan diet can make it more difficult to consume sufficient protein as you have less options readily available.
The benefits of getting enough protein include feeling full, growing muscle mass and improving bone health.
NZProtein plant based ice cream is a convenient and tasty way to ensure you hit that protein goal and live life to the fullest.
Low Sugar
It is important to us to keep the sugar content in our products low. You will only find 0.2 grams of sugar in this ice cream however this doesn’t mean it is lacking in sweetness.
Instead of sugar we use xylitol and erythritol. These sweeteners don’t raise blood glucose levels when consumed.
Xylitol has been found to help improve dental health by starving the bad bacteria in our mouth.
Excessive sweetener consumption can have a laxative effect for some people so make sure to not to go overboard. In appropriate doses, erythritol and xylitol are good alternatives to sugar and are recommended for those who are trying to lose weight or manage blood sugar.
Ice Cream Mix Recipes
Of course ice cream can be consumed by itself but you can take it to the next level by adding different toppings or using it in recipes.
We definitely recommend drizzling a bit of NZProtein low calorie sauce on top. If you like a bit of crunch then a sprinkle of NZProtein-Ola can deliver this.
The world is your oyster when it comes to creating a plant based ice cream sundae.
You could even slather it in between two pecan chocolate chip cookies for a nutritious and tasty plant based protein ice cream sandwich.

I hope more flavours will become available.
I use a lot of your products post-bariatric surgery, and find they work really well on keeping my protein intake on track while not having a ton of carbs.
However, had the new plant-based ice cream today, and it gave me dumping syndrome (for the first time), so I thought I mention that here. This is completely irrelevant for anyone with a normal digestive system - this is a delicious product, but it knocked me right out.
This doesn't happen with the non-plant-based one.

Test Reports
Here at NZProtein we always strive to be the best at what we do. We invest heavily in research and development to have innovative products and the best flavours.
We stand firmly behind our products so we have commenced periodic batch testing of products by independent third party laboratories. These test reports will provide further evidence of the standards we adhere to.
Please note that we will not be able to test every flavour due to the costs - there are simply too many flavours and various batches manufactured. For example, in the NZ Whey alone we have over 20 flavours, so it is not practicable to test every flavour in every batch but we will periodically submit samples in various flavours for analysis.
